This easy and tasty grilled potatoes recipe can be prepared in around 30 minutes and will be a firm favourite with all the family. Grilled potatoes with onions make a perfect combination and is a great base recipe for any BBQ.
You can add all kinds of ingredients to this recipes to make it your own from bacon bits, sweet corn and tuna. It’s also important to remember to use good quality grilled baked potatoes for this recipe to ensure a creamy texture.
Grilled baked potatoes are wonderful on their own if you get the right variety. You can cook grilled potatoes with onions in several ways including using a grill basked but I prefer to cook them separately and add them together at the last minute.
This makes it easier to control the cooking process and ensure your grilled potatoes and onion are perfect every time.
Ingredients for Grilled Potatoes with Onions
- 4-6 Large baking potatoes
- 1 tablespoon of fresh basil leaves
- 2 tablespoons of fresh rosemary
- 2 large onions
- 1/4lb of Butter
- 4 tablespoons of good quality Olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Finely chop the basil leaves and rosemary sprigs and mix with the Olive oil. Place the baked potatoes in tin foil and brush with the olive oil, basil and rosemary.
Leave on the grill for 30 minutes until cooked. You and test the grilled baked potatoes by pricking with a fork. If the potatoes are soft all the way through they are ready.
Place the chopped onions on a grill tray and pour the olive oil mix onto the onions then add the salt and pepper. Cook the onions for 15 minutes until they begin the brown.
Once the grilled baked potatoes and the onions are ready, slice open the baked potatoes and add the butter, onions and serve with salad for a tasty grilled potatoes with onions recipe.
